Five year old Milly Pearce and four year old Rhys Clift turned up at the opening of the massively refurbished Co-op superstore on Warstones Drive, Penn to say thank-you to the Co-op for supporting the local Charity POWER PLEAS that provided them with their trikes. POWER PLEAS has been nominated as one of the local charities to receive funding from the Co-op Local Community Fund that receives 1% of all money that customers spend on own-branded goods from 12 November 2017 until 27 October 2018.

Following their recent request for friends to donate to POWER PLEAS in lieu of presents on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary celebrations, Pat and Ken have raised the magnificent sum of £740 in donations. The charity is truly grateful and hope to mark the occasion when the next Trike is awarded to one of our recipients.

Pat and Ken Harris celebrate 50 years of married life this year. They asked for donations on their 70th birthdays to be given to POWER PLEAS, now as they celebrate their Golden Wedding they are asking friends to give to the Charity again.

Congratulations and extremely well done to Dave Padfield who last Sunday (24th September) successfully completed the prestigious Vélo Birmingham, a 100 mile cycle ride throughout Birmingham, Sandwell, Dudley, Worcestershire and Staffordshire, involving some 15,000 cyclists.

The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award
Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club have inaugurated a Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award to commemorate the huge contribution that the late Baroness Heyhoe Flint made both to the Football Club in particular, but also the City of Wolverhampton.
The First Rachael’s Day
The special celebration to mark the contribution of the late Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint to the lives of hundreds of local children with mobility problems through the annual collection on Saturday 22 April 2017 was a tremendously happy occasion.
Darren Langston (1974 – 2017)
On Thursday 20th January 2017 Darren Langston died peacefully at his flat. Darren was a committee member of POWER PLEAS and a great fund-raiser for the charity at our annual Wolves collections.
Rachael Heyhoe Flint (1939 – 2017)
It is with deepest sadness that we heard today that we have lost a true friend of this charity. Baroness Heyhoe Flint, known to us as Rachael, and our Patron, was our greatest supporter.
Joe and James on track for Scarlett
Wolverhampton Mountain Biker Joe Deans cycled 38 gruelling miles across the Isle of Man in the “End to End” mountain bike challenge in September and raised £210 for the Wolverhampton wheelchair charity POWER PLEAS to go towards a trike for a disabled child.
