Milly and Luke Turn up to Say Thanks

Co-opSix year old Milly Pearce and teenager Luke Millington turned up at the massively refurbished Co-op superstore on Warstones Drive to say thank you to the Co-op for supporting the local charity POWER PLEAS that provided them with their mobility aids.

Milly uses a specially designed trike to assist her when covering distances and that aids her physical development. Luke uses his high-powered StrikeForce wheelchair to play wheelchair football for local team Telford Wolves.

POWER PLEAS had been nominated as one of the local charities to receive funding from the Co-op Local Community Fund that receives 1% of all money that customers spent on own-branded goods over the last year.

POWER PLEAS Chairman Keith Berry said, “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have been given from the Co-op Local Community Fund on 24th November 2018, their Celebration Day. As a small voluntary charity catering since 1987 for the mobility needs of local children, we have been given a lifeline at this time in two ways. Our funds were low but now we can give life-changing trikes to two children who have been assessed. The Co-op 1% scheme has made a massive difference to the likes of Millie and Luke whose trike and sports wheelchair were funded with the help of a Co-op Grant.”
