Five year old Milly Pearce and four year old Rhys Clift turned up at the opening of the massively refurbished Co-op superstore on Warstones Drive, Penn to say thank-you to the Co-op for supporting the local Charity POWER PLEAS that provided them with their trikes.
The Store opened again officially on Thursday 30 November and the two youngsters did a circuit of the aisles to show off their skills on their recently acquired customised machines.
POWER PLEAS has been nominated as one of the local charities to receive funding from the Co-op Local Community Fund that receives 1% of all money that customers spend on own-branded goods from 12 November 2017 until 27 October 2018.
Delighted Chairman of the Charity Keith Berry said, “This is marvellous news and we will be able to provide local young people with trikes and sports wheelchairs that will enrich lives and boost self-esteem. We are extremely grateful to Adrian Boote and all the Co-op staff for their consideration of our totally voluntary charity and for selecting us for this Award.“
